Minimum wage workers have no skills, otherwise they wouldn’t seek minimum wage jobs. It’s not the “bullshit” degree you claim to have but rather what did you learn while acquiring that degree. The welfare and food stamp programs are meant to be temporary until the worker can acquire new skills and seek employment. It’s not so much about where the $33,000 goes, but where it comes from. Each dollar that is spent to overpay a worker comes from the businessperson’s profit or from consumers who will pay higher prices.

Pay people what they are worth. No more, no less.
