The inflation numbers are down from their peak in June, but they are still very high. Most of the reduction in the inflation rate came from falling energy prices that are mostly due to the recession in China and the mild winter. If energy prices are removed, the inflation rate remains very high. regarding the recession, the first half of 2022 saw negative growth. Growth was a positive the third quarte and it looks like a similar number for the fourth quarter. But by the middle of this year growth will turn negative. As China emerges from their recession energy prices willrise. Nothing has been done to reduce inflation in other areas, so the inflation rate could also increase. Let's see what happens.
